On the other hand, the thermostatic expansion valve can work on varying load requirement. This expansion valve is usually used by bigger equipments or devices such as those in manufacturing plants or a big location that needs a big amount of cooling process. However, the disadvantage of capillary tubes is that it operates under a very small or tight variation only. This is because the capillary tube is only small and can only cover small equipments only such as the refrigerator or freezers that you have at home. Furthermore, you will need to consider replacing the tune from the compressor’s exit to evaporator’s inlet if such becomes defective. This can be quite time consuming since you will have to sometimes check the equipment whether such capillary tube is in good working condition or not. On the other hand, the thermostatic expansion valve are quite expensive that the capillary tube. Furthermore, it will require tuning during the first assembly which can be costly if you don’t have any people who knows how to do it right.
